EVENT TYPES

The Marlborough Motorcycle Club runs a variety of motocross events throughout the year, catering to all ages, experience levels, and riding styles. Here’s a breakdown of the different event types:

1. Open Track Days

These are casual, non-competitive days where riders can come and enjoy the track at their own pace. Perfect for practicing skills, trying out a new bike, or just having fun with mates.

2. Fun Days

Fun days are relaxed events with no official scoring or pressure. Classes are divided based on skill and age, making them ideal for beginners or those wanting to ride without the competitive edge.

  • Senior A: Fast, experienced riders

  • Senior B: Those still building their skills

  • Junior A: 125cc/250cc and quick 85cc bikes

  • Junior B: Up to 85cc 2-stroke or 150cc 4-stroke

  • Mini Riders: Ages 4 to 11 on 50cc to 140cc bikes

3. Race Events

These are competitive events where riders race for positions, points, and sometimes trophies! Our major race events include:

  • Peter Brown Memorial: A two-day event with high-level competition.

  • Marlborough Champs: Another thrilling two-day event attracting riders from all over.

Classes follow MNZ championship guidelines, and the racing is always action-packed.

4. Trail Rides

Trail rides offer a change of scenery from the motocross track. These rides are typically held in natural terrain with routes designed for all abilities, from beginners to experienced trail enthusiasts. It’s all about fun, exploration, and enjoying the ride without the competition for the whole family.
